Commodity Futures Trading Strategies
Arm yourself with two of the most advanced commodity futures trading strategies available.
They are the Commodity Index Strategy and the Commodity Trading Strategy.
Each of these strategies provides you with a level of sophistication equal to that of institutional trading programs. They enable you to not only compete with professional traders, but they give you the edge!
The concept for the strategies was developed in early 2007. After having a very good year in our fundamentally driven account and a down year in our technically driven account, we attempted to combine the strengths of each of our methods into an entirely new trading concept.
The project resulted in the core component for the strategies: a mechanical trading system that also benefits from fundamental and common sense inputs.
At the heart of both strategies is the proprietary value determination algorithm. The object of this algorithm is to seek out high opportunity, low initial risk trades. The strategy also uses key fundamentals to create a directional bias for each commodity sector traded.
Once a trade is entered, strict money management rules govern the trade. This provides a level of defense to protect against unforeseeable events.
The strategies, as well as the money management rules, are 100% mechanical.
Since the strategies derive inputs from key trading fundamentals they are designed to perform well going forward. This separates them from the vast majority of commodity futures systems that were designed to produce a stellar looking backtest to sell the system.
In fact, during the initial real-time testing, changes were incorporated into the strategies that made more sense in real-world trading, even though they made the back test worse.
This real time testing began in the spring of 2007. We went live, trading the Commodity Index Strategy with our own money in mid-June of 2007.
We ended 2007 with a 31.57% return… in only 5 ½ months of trading! Better still… at the end of the first quarter of 2008, the strategy is already up 22.01% for the year!
These are the types of highly advanced trading solutions normally only available in CPO (commodity pool operator), CTA (commodity trading advisor) and hedge fund products. These products can have minimum investments of over one million USD, making them inaccessible to the small-size commodity trader and anyone not super-wealthy.
These products also charge enormous fees, (usually, a 2% annual management fee plus a 20% profit incentive fee, which means 20% of your profits are paid in fees). Profit incentive fees can also reward the fund for overtrading or taking higher risks with your money to shoot for those homerun-like returns.
Take control of your trading. Do not be lured into these overpriced products.
Commodity Trading Solutions’ products are two of the lowest cost trading solutions for the commodity futures trader. They are offered on an annual subscription basis.
The cost is about what the data cost to run the systems, but without all the data management headaches. (This includes dropping markets that become illiquid or expire, when to roll contracts on liquidity or most recently - contracts changing exchanges, trading times and execution methods).
Subscribe today and arm yourself with the power to trade like you own your own personal hedge fund, or if you prefer, have our preferred broker trade the signals for you.
